Katie was one of ECG’s advisers and the primary driver of the development of the Illinois Partnership for Health (IPH), an accountable care entity created to care for the shared Managed Medicaid population across nine separate healthcare systems and 54 counties in Illinois. Katie exhibited extensive diplomacy and great facilitation skills, as well as high levels of professionalism and accountability throughout the application development and submission process. Katie was key in getting the nine unique systems to work collaboratively on this unique endeavor. Her network development experience, in addition to her thorough attention to detail, made her a formidable resource for the challenging role of guiding us through this unprecedented work. Without Katie’s involvement in the early stages, IPH may have never come to fruition.

At a time when providers are working to determine whether a proactive or reactive approach to healthcare reform is best, Katie is intensely focused on helping define and implement practical strategies to mitigate short-term challenges while positioning providers for long-term success. Her deep expertise in provider contracting and reimbursement enables her to identify immediate revenue enhancement opportunities through existing or new managed care arrangements while concurrently developing strategies and tactical plans to support the transition to value-based reimbursement. Katie’s thoughtfulness, project management skills, and reimbursement expertise allow her to establish successful, long-standing relationships with clients by earning and building trust, demonstrating true skillfulness, and basing her work on the mantra “do what you say you are going to do.”
Since joining ECG in 2008, Katie has led contract negotiations with small and large multispecialty physician practices, radiology practices, anesthesia practices, employed and independent physician practices, health systems, and behavioral health facilities, resulting in an average annual revenue enhancement of 5% to 15%. As the reimbursement market has shifted, Katie’s focus has broadened to support major health systems across the nation in the development of population health management strategies as well as identification of gaps in existing clinical integration strategies.
