Mia’s experience working with health systems and other healthcare organizations in strategic planning and finance is helpful for clients as they explore opportunities surrounding growth, collaboration, and consolidation. In an environment where controlling and reducing costs without compromising access and quality are crucial, clients value Mia’s business and public health background.
Before joining ECG, Mia worked as a graduate intern in Kurt Salmon’s Health Care Strategy Group; a consultant (intern) at MedZed, an Atlanta-based healthcare start-up; and a field scholar in Cape Town, South Africa. With Kurt Salmon, Mia completed a physician and allied health workforce needs analysis, resulting in the development of a comprehensive recruitment recommendation plan. Prior to graduate school, Mia worked as a strategic planning analyst at Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta, where she developed a new statistical model that incorporated historical utilization data, capacity constraint information, and volume projections into a system-wide bed-need assessment, resulting in an award for a $19 million investment in new beds
