Todd has been a trusted adviser to healthcare organizations for more than 17 years. He has conducted numerous feasibility assessments for potential physician/hospital affiliations, led productive negotiations between hospital executives and physician leaders, and served as an interim executive director for employed physician practices. He helps his clients resolve complex operational and performance issues. Todd possesses focused expertise in operational and strategic issues surrounding the delivery of orthopedic and musculoskeletal (MSK) care. As the co-leader of MSK services within ECG’s Service Line and Integration Strategy practice, he is responsible for building ECG’s thought leadership with respect to the transformation of orthopedic and spine service lines. In his recent client work, Todd successfully designed and implemented an orthopedic service line for a 200-bed community hospital, aligning the hospital and its employed and private orthopedic surgeon practices. Since that engagement, the hospital’s market share for orthopedic services has since grown to approximately 70%—a historic high. He also engaged with a health system to create a vision for a comprehensive MSK system of care, and he established 10-year volume projections associated with the development of an orthopedic specialty hospital on one of four health system campuses. Prior to consulting, Todd worked in various roles in the Department of Orthopedic Surgery at both Boston Medical Center and Brigham and Women’s Hospital.
