Maya is a healthcare operations leader with a passion for redesigning and improving health systems’ long-standing processes through fresh, innovative ideas. Having led engagements in ambulatory, surgery, radiology, and digital health settings and worked with personnel at the front line, provider, and executive levels, Maya has seen the provider environment from all sides. Clients appreciate her ability to quickly survey their current-state processes and infrastructure, work with technical personnel to identify opportunities, and then operationalize and implement these improvements for adoption by frontline teams.
At ECG, Maya’s focus is on digital health and patient access, and she has proven success utilizing Epic Ambulatory and Cadence capabilities to support various optimization efforts related to referral management, decision tree implementation, and provider template optimization. Currently, she is introducing new provider templates and MyChart patient self-scheduling across multiple specialties for a county health system in California. Before joining ECG, Maya held multiple positions at Ann & Robert H. Lurie Children’s Hospital of Chicago. As a division administrator in the Department of Surgery, Maya led an access space utilization and provider template optimization project that resulted in a 73% rise in ophthalmology patient appointments and a 16% increase in ophthalmology surgical volume over the prior year. As the manager of telehealth, Maya helped develop a secure video platform that was instrumental in building the hospital’s industry-leading telehealth program.
