ECG Management Consultants, Inc., Expands Southwestern U.S. Presence With Addition of Senior Manager

San Diego, CA – April 30, 2008 – ECG Management Consultants, Inc., one of the nation’s premier healthcare management consulting firms, today announced that Mr. Scott F. Burns has joined the company’s San Diego office as a senior manager.

Commenting on the hire, Mr. Gary K. Edmiston, Principal and leader of ECG’s San Diego office, said, “Scott will be a valuable addition to the Healthcare – Southwest practice.  He lends significant expertise in healthcare strategy development, facilitation, and implementation gained from working within health systems and in leading Big 4 consulting engagements.  I am sure he will play a significant role in our continued growth.”

In the San Diego office, Mr. Burns will focus on the strategic, capital, and business planning needs of existing and new healthcare clients of the firm.  He brings more than 25 years of senior-level experience in analyzing and resolving business issues for health systems, academic medical centers, community hospitals, and physician groups.  Prior to joining ECG, Mr. Burns was a director in the healthcare advisory practice at PricewaterhouseCoopers, where he recently coauthored a report on the financial health of California hospitals.  He was previously a director on the corporate staff of National Medical Enterprises, Inc. (now Tenet Healthcare Corporation) responsible for acute care hospital acquisition and development activities.  He received a bachelor of arts from Purdue University, with a concentration in public administration and an emphasis on health services administration.
