Physician/Hospital Relationships

The current economic and regulatory environment and the surge in specialist physician requests for employment, is driving an increased need for alignment between children’s hospitals, pediatric physicians and their university partners. This need for better alignment and shared goals is driving structural changes to existing agreements and affiliation terms.

Examples of changes in pediatric organizations include:

  • Joint venture physician practice plan development.
  • Employed physician group development.
  • Research and other academic investment analysis.
  • Teaching arrangements and associated payments refinement.
  • Stark technology donations analysis.
  • Call coverage, medical direction, or other services purchased from physicians analysis.

ECG brings literally decades of experience to creating effective, sustainable physician-hospital arrangements. Our understanding of current trends and potential options, given the current economic environment and path of regulatory reform, proves time and again to be an invaluable client resource.
