With a background that combines experience in hospital-based strategy, business planning, patient experience improvement, and operational efficiency, Shelby offers ECG clients a broad, informed perspective on ways to enhance hospital performance and increase efficiency amid tightening margins. Having worked closely with executives, managers, and front-line staff, Shelby has a deep understanding of the intricacies and importance of communicating among personnel at all levels of a healthcare organization, particularly when implementing a strategic improvement plan.

Before joining ECG, Shelby worked as a Project Manager at New York-Presbyterian Hospital, overseeing projects related to strategic planning, finance, cost reduction planning, and operational efficiency. In addition, she was responsible for analyzing and updating leadership on key hospital metrics and benchmarks that were used to increase accountability and identify areas for improvement. As an internal consultant for the Department of Patient Centered Care, Shelby developed and advanced the hospital’s overall patient-centered care strategic vision, annual goals, and objectives. She also partnered with departments to develop effective metric-tracking mechanisms to promote accountability for all implemented best practices.
