My diverse career has provided me with a unique opportunity to improve both payment and delivery systems for healthcare organizations of all shapes and sizes. At ECG, I am able to apply this experience with the support of leading experts in their fields, amplifying the impact I can make for my clients in achieving their goals.

Wren is a seasoned healthcare adviser with over 15 years’ worth of experience. He counsels clients nationally, including hospitals, physician groups and integrated delivery systems, and health plans on a wide variety of business and policy matters across the payment and delivery continuum. He is proficient in designing and negotiating value-based payment arrangements, and he has particular expertise in Medicaid, including Section 1115 Waiver programs and Medicaid Managed Care payer strategy.

Wren’s career in healthcare began in disruptive consumer technology; he transitioned from healthcare IT into management and strategy consulting in 2012. Since then, his work has focused on the intersection of providers and payers. At ECG, Wren supports clients in achieving improved payer relations and financial performance under traditional and innovative payment arrangements. Wren’s experience includes designing and building more than 20 contracting networks (IPAs, ACOs, and CINs) in more than 10 states; working on multiple Delivery System Reform Incentive Payment (DSRIP) programs and Public Hospital Redesign and Incentives in Medi-Cal (PRIME); completing a variety of managed care contract reviews for hospitals and physician groups and helping clients assume a proactive stance and anticipate future impacts to reimbursement revenue; and assisting with the design and implementation of back-office services to support alternative and risk-bearing payment arrangements.
