From Volume to Value: Lessons Learned From Starting an Accountable Care Organization

It is clear that the government and other payers will continue on their course of reducing fee-for-service payments. As a result, providers must prepare to meet the demands of value-based (rather than volume-based) care models. In order to manage this transition from volume to value, hospitals and health systems are exploring the development of accountable care organizations (ACOs). This session shares the operational realities and challenges associated with moving from the theory of ACOs to actual implementation.
