| At ECG, our people are our most valuable asset. We understand
the importance of ongoing training and education to strengthen and
enhance skills. We provide our staff with numerous opportunities for
professional development, including:
On-the-Job Training. On-the-job training
is perhaps the single most effective source of professional development
available, and at ECG it is optimized by our project team structure.
Given the complex issues that we address, our consulting teams generally
consist of a principal, manager, and staff consultant(s). Thus, you gain
valuable day-to-day exposure to consulting professionals who are recognized experts with demonstrated consulting success. This opportunity to learn from the best is second to none in the industry.
Mentoring/Open-Door Policy.
All of our professionals, from the president of the company to our newly
hired staff consultants, maintain an open-door policy. When you need
direction, be it for solving a pressing client issue or just understanding
our firm culture, the answer is only a knock away. Each of our consultants
is assigned an administrative mentor when he or she arrives, and that mentor
is committed to assisting your career development. More importantly, with
our open-door policy you will find that all of our firm members can serve an
important role in ensuring your success.
Peer Mentoring.
As part of their introduction to ECG, new consultants are paired with a peer
mentor. The goal of the peer mentoring program is to enhance a new staff
member’s transition into the firm’s work environment through informal discussions
related to ECG’s policies and processes, project deliverables, available resources,
and other topics.
Monthly Professional Development Sessions.
These informal lunch sessions typically focus on current topics, such as specific
client engagements, healthcare industry trends, and consulting techniques.
Monthly Division Meetings.
Topics include new projects, divisional business planning, and healthcare technical issues.
Spring and Fall Staff Meetings.
This half-day conference, held at a unique local venue such as a museum or other
cultural center, features speakers on current topics, trends in healthcare, and recent
developments from our administrative departments.
Summer Staff Conference.
Dedicated to professional development, this annual staff conference is held off site
at various Pacific Northwest or East Coast resorts. This 2-day retreat brings the
whole firm together at one location and features outside speakers, current topics,
industry trends, and consulting methodologies.
Two Formal Performance Reviews.
Staff members are reviewed twice each year by their administrative managers.
During the review process, staff members receive constructive feedback regarding
project performance and discuss specific professional development goals.
Paid Conference Attendance.
Staff may attend up to two industry conferences annually.
Paid Association Memberships.
We encourage our staff to actively participate in industry associations.
Additional Educational Opportunities.
These might include computer training courses, public speaking courses, and other
relevant instruction.
We believe these activities are essential to the support
and continuing development of our team. Our commitment to
professional development ensures experienced and knowledgeable
consultants who can provide the highest-quality services to
our clients. |
