Bartt is a nationally recognized expert and thought leader in compensation valuation with experience providing valuation, design, and advisory services for a range of provider compensation arrangements, including clinical services, on-call coverage, medical director and physician executive services, coverage arrangements, management services, graduate medical education, research, and quality initiatives. His deep understanding of the healthcare regulatory environment allows him to support healthcare systems as they navigate fair market value (FMV), commercial reasonableness (CR), and compensation design.


Before joining ECG, Bartt served in multiple roles at VMG Health, beginning as an analyst and working his way up to become the managing director of the group’s Compensation Division. In this role, Bartt helped for-profit and nonprofit healthcare systems, academic medical centers, private equity firms, law firms, and locum tenens companies with their compensation design and valuation needs. Examples of his work include being the preferred FMV and CR valuation partner for two of the largest for-profit healthcare systems in the US; assisting UHS and George Washington University with the acquisition of GW Medical Faculty Associates; providing FMV opinions for over 100 TeamHealth hospital and emergency medicine provider coverage arrangements for a national for-profit healthcare system; and designing multiple compensation models, spanning anesthesia, CRNA, hospice, and hospitalist services, for a nonprofit health system in the Midwest.
