Garrett is a healthcare consultant with a track record of partnering with academic health centers, community hospitals, medical schools, and physician organizations. He addresses complex operational and strategic challenges through rigorous analyses, stakeholder engagement, and actionable recommendations. Known for clearly translating data into meaningful insights, Garrett helps executive leaders navigate organizational transformation, evaluate growth opportunities, and align resources with long-term institutional priorities.
Since joining ECG, Garrett has applied his analytical and strategic problem-solving skills to deliver advisory support during a wide range of engagements. Recently, he has partnered with academic health systems and schools of medicine to develop strategic plans that advance institutional priorities and position organizations for long-term success. He has led complex organizational initiatives, including the transition of a faculty group practice from university ownership to health system governance and management. Garrett has also guided academic medical centers and community-based health systems in evaluating and developing new graduate medical education (GME) programs by conducting feasibility assessments and financial modeling analyses. In addition, he has structured and negotiated affiliation frameworks between schools of medicine and community health systems to expand clinical training capacity, strengthen educational partnerships, and increase undergraduate medical education and GME opportunities. Before joining ECG, Garrett worked at Emory Healthcare as a business operations manager. In this role, he developed business cases to support the transition of purchased services to hospital-based services and man-aged the capital budget for a three-hospital operations unit.
