Jim is a healthcare growth and marketing strategy leader with more than 25 years of experience advising health plans and provider organizations on complex market, brand, and growth challenges. Jim brings deep expertise in translating strategy into execution, informed by more than two decades of senior leadership within a national healthcare agency environment. His work focuses on helping organizations drive measurable results across Medicare, Medicaid, commercial, and value-based care (VBC) markets.
Prior to joining ECG, Jim served as EVP and managing director, healthcare practice at MERGE, during which time he helped scale the firm from 70 to 700 employees and expand its health plan portfolio from 1 to 19 clients, including the Blue Cross Blue Shield Association and multiple leading regional and national health plans. Jim's strength lies in his ability to build and sustain long-term client partnerships, with average relationships exceeding 10 years in duration, well above industry norms. Examples of Jim's notable healthcare engagements include leading the launch of Horizon Blue Cross Blue Shield of New Jersey's Medicare Advantage offering, achieving 120% of acquisition goals; launching OMNIA Health Alliance, a VBC-driven, tiered-network initiative; and leading integrated growth and brand initiatives for Select Health's "One Good Choice" campaign, which contributed to a 50% increase in sales and a 21% lift in brand favorability.
