Ryan Moynihan

Senior Manager

Ryan calls upon his experience in strategy, network development, and partnerships to help provider organizations and medical schools navigate the operational, strategic, and financial challenges of an increasingly interconnected healthcare ecosystem. Ryan’s clients appreciate his ability to integrate a variety of analytics into well-structured, actionable business plans. Having worked at one of the nation's top-ranked, not-for-profit academic medical centers prior to joining ECG, Ryan is passionate about developing best-in-class healthcare delivery models and processes that are also financially pragmatic.

At ECG, Ryan advises executive leaders on strategies that strengthen organizational performance, accelerate growth, and foster the missions of academic health systems, medical schools, children's hospitals, and research enterprises. His work includes supporting a USNWR Best Hospitals Honor Roll pediatric institution with strategic planning for a complex affiliation with an adult partner to advance its tripartite mission. Ryan guided one of the nation's largest nonprofit healthcare systems through strategic plan development and organizational redesign for research. He has helped medical schools expand their educational, research, and clinical footprints, including building a strategy for a medical school seeking to increase its class size, enter the health sciences space, and relocate into a new facility. Ryan has also led the development of financial feasibility models for new schools of medicine that evaluated enrollment trajectories, faculty and staffing requirements, capital needs, and long-term financial sustainability. In parallel, he has advised universities and health systems on affiliation structures and governance approaches by designing partnership frameworks, financial arrangements, and alignment strategies that position organizations for enduring success.
