In a career spanning more than 30 years, John has been a trusted adviser to the leaders of academic medical centers, health systems, hospitals, and payer and physician organizations. Having worked in all segments of the healthcare industry, John brings a broad, varied perspective to every engagement, as well as the ability to understand the needs of multiple stakeholders with competing interests. He leads strategic enterprise transformation engagements, which yield significant and realizable performance improvement. He also manages multiple physician and hospital alignment transactions, hospital and health system integration efforts, and innovative care model development and implementation projects, helping to position his clients with the vision, strategy, and discipline to succeed in the ever-changing healthcare delivery environment.
With a combination of significant organizational leadership and consulting experience, John has served in interim and executive leadership roles or been an engagement advisory leader. Specifically, John led the first-year, $45 million financial improvement for Catholic Health system in Buffalo, New York; a six-month transition of University Medical Center from KentuckyOne Health–Catholic Health Initiatives with $27 million in operational cost savings; the management team at East Jefferson General Hospital in a five-month, $11 million improvement in financial performance; a $54 million financial turnaround of Riverside University Medical Center; and the design and development of the Vanderbilt Health Affiliated Network, a CIN with more than 60 hospitals and 5,000 providers.
