As a teenager I had a lengthy hospitalization, and during my subsequent recovery I found myself asking many questions about healthcare delivery. Why did some patients drive for hours to receive specialty care? Why were there so many variables influencing who could access care and how it was provided? What drove physicians to make practice decisions? That curiosity sparked a career-long passion that has led me to explore the issues driving physician workforce decisions and patient access to care. I’m continuously curious about provision of community health services, whether investigating changes in physician specialty practice styles or examining subtle geographic differences in care across a single market. Every project is a new puzzle to be pieced together.

Jennifer is a dynamic healthcare strategist with a wide-ranging knowledge of physician workforce planning, medical staff development, physician alignment, network adequacy planning, and provider recruitment trends. ECG clients value her guidance on health system market planning and physician staffing issues, as well as the insightful, pragmatic approach she brings to all of her engagements.

The leader of ECG’s Provider Workforce Planning practice, Jennifer has almost 25 years of experience in physician recruitment, medical staff development planning, and community need assessment. During her career, she has worked with more than 400 health systems, hospitals, and physician organizations to define provider recruitment and retention goals, craft implementable solutions to workforce deficits, create alignment strategies, and expand ambulatory provider access. She has also worked closely with leadership to right-size physician organizations, align providers with emerging care delivery models, and position hospitals and health systems for success in an evolving healthcare landscape.
