She works with clients in a wide variety of healthcare settings to optimize technology, improve processes and procedures, develop governance and management structures, and focus on lasting culture change and communication needs to drive sustainable revenue cycle solutions.
Representative of the success of her project work, Laura directed performance improvement activities in separate, comprehensive revenue cycle and operations engagements for a four-hospital system and a community hospital; these resulted in respective outcomes of $7 million in onetime cash acceleration (along with $29 million in recurring annual profits) and more than $30 million in measured financial benefit. Laura is also skilled in directing complex, multifaceted performance improvement projects. One such engagement realized $3 million in financial benefit and involved diverse revenue cycle, physician productivity, clinical documentation improvement, workforce productivity, human resources, and pharmacy considerations.
Further, Laura has managed operational redesign, consolidation, and centralization efforts for several organizations. Her work for a large, multifacility health system included addressing patient access processes for six of its major sites of care. Additionally, Laura led a notable vendor reconciliation engagement for a $6 million net patient revenue system that identified and reduced A/R variances by more than $20 million.
