Dr. Babineau is a respected clinician, executive, and strategist who has served both as a practicing surgeon and as a health system executive leader for more than 30 years. He brings a wealth of experience to ECG, and his perspective as a former health system CEO enables him to deliver valuable and unique insights. Dr. Babineau knows firsthand the challenges executive leaders and boards are facing in today’s changing healthcare landscape.
Before joining ECG, Dr. Babineau was the president and CEO of Lifespan Health System, a $3 billion academic health system affiliated with the Warren Alpert Medical School of Brown University in Rhode Island. During his tenure at Lifespan, Dr. Babineau transformed patient access and experience through a series of major initiatives, including establishing the Lifespan Physician Group; acquiring the state’s largest primary care group; and driving major service line expansions and improvements in cancer, cardiovascular care, and neurosciences. Before his role as a healthcare executive leader, he practiced general surgery at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center and Boston Medical Center, where he served as the chief of gastrointestinal surgery and residency program director. Dr. Babineau is the recipient of numerous professional awards and honors and has repeatedly been named to Becker’s Hospital Review’s 105 Physician Leaders to Know.
