Tony is a nationally recognized expert in provider compensation and valuation. He helps his clients align provider compensation with organizational objectives and optimize medical group performance. Tony also directs ECG's fair market value (FMV) and commercial reasonableness (CR) review framework. His deep understanding of the regulatory environment allows him to support healthcare organizations in federal and state investigations as an expert in physician compensation and provide opinions for entities under corporate integrity agreements with the federal government.
At ECG, Tony's work focuses on physician-hospital relationships, physician and faculty compensation planning and implementation, and value-based care incentive design. Recent examples of his work include serving as the interim vice president of physician compensation for Mass General Brigham; leading the faculty compensation model redesign and compensation governance framework review for Mass General Brigham, Prisma Health, and Emory Healthcare; and guiding ECG to becoming the preferred FMV and CR consulting partner for some of the largest nonprofit healthcare systems in the US (e.g., Providence Health, CommonSpirit Health, Advocate Health Care, Banner Health, NewYork-Presbyterian). In addition, Tony led the physician value-based care compensation model redesign for CentraCare, a medical group containing 900 providers, which focused on aligning value-based reimbursement with compensation-specific metrics.
