David draws on his wide-ranging background in healthcare administration, operations, analytics, and consulting to take a pragmatic and detail-oriented approach in advising clients. His deep knowledge in data modeling and visualization, coupled with his expertise in benchmarking and variations analyses supports informed and high-level decision-making. Clients and colleagues appreciate David’s straightforward, actionable insights and guidance in a rapidly shifting healthcare landscape.
Prior to joining ECG, David was a manager on the Capacity Command Center’s leadership team at Johns Hopkins Hospital (JHH). In this role, David partnered closely with clinical department and executive hospital leadership to navigate challenges induced by the COVID 19 pandemic. Specifically, David co led daily hospital-wide executive updates, helping senior leaders understand the state of the hospital and pandemic, along with setting the hospital’s direction. These and other capacity-related initiatives positioned JHH to accommodate the highest volume of adult and pediatric patients diagnosed with COVID 19 of any hospital in the state.
David’s prior experience in healthcare consulting includes creating tailored quality performance guidance for over 30 hospitals, redeveloping statistical policy models for state hospital regulations, and contributing financial and market share analyses to successfully restructuring multiple health systems.
