Although I had consulted before, my first healthcare project 20 years ago convinced me that I had found my passion. I saw and felt the impact that the completed project had on the hospital staff, the physician leaders and their peers, and most importantly, the patients. My client received patient letters expressing gratitude and thanks after receiving care from the newly developed program, and I understood the positive, life-changing impact we can have on others.

Matt is a seasoned healthcare executive who has spent the past 20 years consulting to and working with organizations to improve their operational abilities and optimize their service and care delivery systems through targeted and focused service line strategies. Matt is passionate about helping hospitals differentiate themselves and deliver better patient care through a focus on the service line model. ECG’s clients appreciate his track record of creating innovative systems of care and improving patient experiences.

Before joining ECG, Matt was the administrator of Orthopedic and Neuroscience Care Transformation Services at Hackensack Meridian Health. In this capacity, he was responsible for leading the integration efforts and overseeing the strategy and operations for these two service lines within a recently formed, 17-hospital, $6.5 billion health system. He developed and executed multiyear strategic plans across all hospital, outpatient, and ambulatory-based locations for the two services, which contributed more than $500 million in revenue. Matt was also instrumental in creating a de novo neuroscience institute at the largest hospital in New Jersey. Prior to his time at Hackensack, Matt spent almost 10 years as a healthcare consultant, focusing on designing and implementing service line strategies and improving operations at hospitals and healthcare systems.
