With a professional background combining experience in strategic planning and departmental operations with extensive skills in data analysis, Shelley offers ECG clients a valuable, data-driven perspective on their planning and performance improvement initiatives. Shelley has experience managing complex engagements with multiple stakeholders, and clients appreciate her communication skills and ability to keep participants focused on a project’s larger objectives. She is especially valued for her ability to gather data from diverse sources and convert it into meaningful reports that physicians and senior leaders rely on to make informed decisions.
Prior to joining ECG, Shelley worked as a Business Analyst at UNC Health Care. In this capacity, she completed financial analyses for new service lines and physician hires and served as a liaison to the revenue cycle analytics team. In addition, she supported the redesign of a faculty compensation plan; her analytic work and findings ultimately led to recommendations to department and system leaders for aligning compensation with productivity while balancing the missions of an academic medical center. She also managed the transition of a clinic to hospital-based status, working with multiple department leaders to coordinate the transition and training staff on new processes following the transition. Before UNC, Shelley was an Administrative Fellow with Emory Healthcare (EHC), where she evaluated and improved the process flow of emergency department patients, an effort that was recognized with an award in the 2012 EHC Quality Conference.
