ECG Healthcare Transactions Webinar Series
Part I of III: The Strategy
To flourish within a dynamic healthcare environment, providers need to demonstrate the ability to reliably deliver high-value care. Doing so, however, requires strategic, financial, and clinical integration across a full continuum of healthcare services. For organizations that do not currently possess the complete suite of services they want or need to be competitive, the question they are or should be asking themselves is “Do we build, buy, or align with existing organizations in order to provide missing services?”
Successfully transitioning to a value-based payment environment is dependent on the pace at which organizations identify, prioritize, and obtain the requisite programs, people, and processes to deliver high-quality, cost-effective care. The most effective organizations are proactively assessing their clinical capabilities and acquiring programs, services, and infrastructure to quickly fill existing holes. This webinar will help executives understand how to properly examine their current continuum of services and ultimately develop a strategy to assemble the best infrastructure and institutional competencies to successfully drive regional integration.
Following this presentation, participants will:
- Understand how to assess the organization’s clinical capabilities and identify service gaps.
- Be able to better predict when the organization’s market will transition to significant value-based reimbursement.
- Understand the build vs. buy framework and how to apply it to determining the organization’s strategic direction.
- Recognize that, in many markets, buying (or acquiring) existing services and programs is the best strategy for remaining competitive and keeping pace with the transition to value-based care.
