Ask any hospital executive how important quality and safety are to their organization, and they’ll likely characterize them as their highest priorities. Yet in the ACHE’s most recent survey of hospital CEOs’ top concerns, respondents identified workforce challenges and financial challenges as their top two most pressing issues. Patient safety and quality clocked in at number 6.
This disconnect presents an opportunity. As ECG’s Kim Adleman, PhD, and Tim Babineau, MD, argue, hospital leaders who embed safety and quality into their culture can unlock significant benefits—reducing costs, enhancing revenue, lowering staff turnover, and boosting recruitment—all while improving care for their patients.
Sincerely,
